History
It's been a couple of years since BRB kicked off.
To fall back and see how they started - Idy and prathap, who were a part of many cultural activities at college were instrumental in building the college band and performing at various venues around Bangalore. As they moved on for their degrees' receptively Idy met Ashwin and Dany at college and not to long after, the four kicked off. Though individually they were playing and jamming with different bands at various places in early 2011 is when they realized that their synergies in music matched well and couple of jams later noticed the wavelength in the band was good. From then there was no stopping them, they kick-started and BRB went live.
As it happens in every band the phase was mind-blowing and fun there were different idea's names, words, phrases all thought to name the band. They wanted something which talks their music, suited the songs they played and the riffs they created and composed. Got themselves to BRIM RIVER BRIDGE. meaning - don't play songs too heavy nor too light and are sandwiched in between like their music being a flow of water in the river where its always on the Brim, Bridge being their connection with the audience - Brim River Bridge.
All the members of BRB grew listening to similar bands and same kind of music, bands that influenced them are Collective Soul, GNR, Metallica, The wallflowers, Creed and the likes. BRB grew listening to their very own Bands like Parikrama and Indian Ocean. BRB always wanted to be more innovative and have created a style for themselves - a BRB style. Even as they paid tribute to various covers they played it in their genre.
Their own compositions have always been overwhelming with some striking riffs and tunes which has always been composed and written with specific meaning to convey to their audience with a message. Like their song "HIGH WATER" is a dedication for all the Tsunami effected people and people who have lost their loved ones in incidents happening in recent times. "SILENCE" is a song for all the people that have gone through betrayal in their lives. " NO REGRETS" is a songs which speaks about all each ones childhood days and memories. As they played at different venues people starting calling them out as "peoples band", as their songs related to common crowd as they head banded to the riffs and danced to the grooves.
Having played at various Events, Concerts, Open air jams, Pubs, Hotels, Beach stages, Studios, Colleges etc. They have made their presence felt and always had the cynosure button pressed at venues they have played at. Made News at various magazines and Radio Event, newspapers etc. Having played around 50+ venues and still going, BRB looks ahead entertaining their crowd and going international.Though having a few projects coming their way, BRB have no album released yet.They rarely records music in the studio, and most of their recordings are made in live performances.
